Teaching is the process of inculcating moral valuesskills, abilities by an experienced person to an inexperienced person,in order to ensure positive change in behaviour useful in developing oneself and the society. Principles are the pathways which helps the individual to achieve targets.There are some general principles of teachingthat have emerged from the general experiences, research. Among them here we discuss about “PRINCIPLE OF PLANNING’’. Principle of Planning:Planning plays a crucial role in the field of education,shaping the way learning experiences are structured and delievered.It encompasses a range of activities aimed at achieving specific educational goals efficiently and effectively. Every teacher has certain time-bound objectives, and hence teaching should be systematic, to make optimum use of resources within the limit. Planning includes lesson plan, teaching aids, strategies and methods of teaching. To make teaching successful, this Principle of planning is essential to be as follows- • Clear Goal & Objectives:Setting clear goals and objectives is essential for effective planning.It helps teacher at every stage,phase,or act of teaching. After defining goal teacher may execute plan and evaluate all aspects of teaching like method,techniques,strategies etc.This involves defining what student should know at the end of a specific period of time and identifying the key learning outcomes that need to be achieved. • Prepare Lesson Plan: Teacher should enter the classroom with proper lesson plan that includes the establishment of instructional objectives in behavioural terms and the relevant and organized subject matter. The method, techniques or strategies of presentation, instructions and evaluation should also be specified in advance. • CURRICULUM DESIGN: The Curriculum should be designed to meet the learning needs of students. It should include a broad range of subjects and be organised in a way that is easy for students to understand and follow. • STUDENT CENTERED: A Student -Centred approach focusses on actively involving students in their own learning, tailoring instruction to their needs, interest and abilities.Here as a teacher the duty is to acts as a facilitator,guiding students,to explore topics and build knowledge through hands-on, real world experiences. The emphasis is on personalized, active, and reflective learning, with flexible assessment methods that promote growth. • Realism: Plans must be achievable and grounded in reality, considering available resources. • FLEXIBILITY: Flexibility is a key, as a teacher, remain adaptable to adjust plans according to student needs, interests, and unexpected situations, fostering responsive teaching and boosting student engagement. • COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION: Strategies for successful planning includescollaboration and communication. Educators can benefit from working together to share ideas , expertise, and best practices. By fostering a culture of collaboration, it can enhance planning processes and create a more cohesive educational experience for students. ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION: Assessment and evaluation play an important role in planning.It is important to develop appropriate assessment methods to ensure that students are meeting learning objectives and to identify areas where they may need additional support. CONCLUSION :In Conclusion, planning is a cornerstone of effective education. By embracing key principle and implementing strategic planning , enhance the quality of teaching and learning. Through thoughtful and purposeful planning, educational institutions can achieve their goals and empower students to reach the full potential.
