“A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in the pupils.” -Ever Garrison As a teacher, it was our duty to encourage and show some ways to all the students, so that they can help themselves to develop and think rationally. Presenting some points below: 1. Teaching – Learning through active participation always involves learners being active, engaging their minds in learning. Example: Teachers can organize exhibitions, various competitions that include poster making, building a model etc., so as to make the students think and get creative. 2. Respect diverse talents and ways of learning. Example: The capability of students vary from person to person in the classroom, so it is necessary for the teachers to provide extra material or activities to those who lack essential background knowledge or skills. 3. Active teaching Method. Example: Teachers should organize group discussions or other group activities so that the students actively participate and discuss their viewpoints effectively. 4. Emphasize time on task. Example: As time management is essential, teachers should give assignments to students and fix a deadline for submission that would make the students quite efficient & responsible. Hence, it is important for the teacher to plan beforehand and use variety of approaches to learning in their teaching so as to make the students engage actively throughout the process.
